As iCOMAT establishes its new state-of-the-art facility, the team, who were already familiar with Dycem’s proven performance, made the decision to install Dycem contamination control flooring at the entrance to their cleanroom, helping to capture foot- and wheel-borne particles before they can enter sensitive areas.
CHALLENGE
When iCOMAT began setting up its new facility, the team faced a significant challenge: keeping the cleanroom certified while construction activity was still ongoing. Maintaining a contamination-free environment proved demanding, with equipment, contractors, and dust constantly moving through the site. Any lapse in standards could risk the loss of certification, halting production, and significantly increasing costs.
iCOMAT identified these risks early and acted quickly to implement effective contamination control measures, ensuring cleanroom standards were upheld from the start.
SOLUTION
Based on past positive experiences, iCOMAT chose Dycem to support its contamination control strategy. The team installed a large blue Dycem WorkZone mat at the key entry point to their cleanroom to help prevent particles from entering the area. With proven performance (up to 99.9%), easy maintenance, and long-term sustainability, Dycem provided the reliability iCOMAT needed in a high-risk environment.
RESULTS
Dycem quickly became a valuable part of daily operations. The mats helped the team maintain cleanroom standards during the most unpredictable stages of the site build. With a simple daily wipe-down, staff could keep the mats performing at their best without interrupting workflow. Around 20–50 people use Dycem each day, reducing the need for frequent deep cleans and allowing the team to focus on production without compromising cleanliness.
