Our Journey
Founded in 1966, Dycem® led the development of a stable polymeric formulation with unique surface properties. Initially, they created the Non-Slip product by applying this material to a reel. This marked the inception of Dycem’s journey into crafting aids for independent living and caregiving. These versatile Non-Slip solutions find utility in various domains including home, leisure, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, catering, and more.
A pivotal moment came in the early ’70s when an IBM employee introduced Dycem’s Non-Slip reel to their workplace. Walking on the reel removed contaminants from shoe soles, transferring them onto the reel. This revelation gave birth to Dycem Contamination Control. In 1978, Dycem pioneered the first contamination control coating machine. Through unwavering innovation, Dycem’s Contamination Control mats have emerged as essential safeguards in diverse industries, especially within cleanrooms and controlled environments.
